sanbi.jpgThe South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) wanted to deliver greener IT as part of a program to reduce the organization’s carbon footprint. It also planned to simplify IT management, increase performance, and improve services to clients.

SANBI chose a virtualized solution featuring Dell PowerEdge* blade servers based on the Intel® Xeon® processor 5600 series—and cut its carbon footprint by using around 76 percent fewer servers. It also reduced IT outages by around 80 percent and enabled employees to raise productivity by using more reliable systems. IT also cut management time by around 40 percent. Plus, SANBI can expand more easily with highly scalable storage.
