Technology plays a powerful role in helping us adapt and shift our thinking on everything from supply chain strategy to reimagining how we engage with customers. It is the foundation of 21st Century transformation.

In this dynamic time, customers require choice and flexibility in adopting cloud solutions. For many enterprises, the best approach is hybrid cloud – the freedom to run sensitive workloads on-premises, and others in the cloud.

Today at the Microsoft virtual partner event, Inspire, the company previewed its new Azure Stack HCI, an Azure service that combines the flexibility, scalability and price-performance advantages of hyperconverged infrastructure with native Azure hybrid capabilities. This announcement marks a significant advancement in enabling customers to adopt technology with the power to transform their businesses – on their terms.

The public preview of Microsoft’s Azure Stack HCI will also give customers quicker access to innovation with a regular cadence of updates. This new subscription model promises to deliver customer flexibility and TCO.

We’re really excited about the innovation this will drive to our mutual customers.

Our collaboration with Microsoft

Our pledge to customers echoes Microsoft: we believe in delivering choice. It starts with a strong technology foundation that creates the flexibility to move, store and process data across any environment, from on-prem to the edge and to the public cloud. Customers tell us they want the ability to analyze and derive insights from data, no matter where it lives. Our goal is to provide a modern infrastructure that helps them achieve this. Wherever our customer’s data may reside.

So, what does a strong technology foundation mean and what are we doing to combine our technology portfolio with Microsoft’s Azure Stack HCI solution?

We’re delivering across three critical fronts:

  • The power to process and secure everything with our broad portfolio of processors from Intel Xeon to Movidius

  • The ability to store, cache and encrypt data in a datacentric world with Intel Optane technologies

  • The ability to move volumes of data faster with our Intel Ethernet, Intel Silicon Photonics and Barefoot Network technologies

Our Partners

At the heart of these advancements is our collective partner ecosystem, from ISVs to OEMs to SIs and VARs. We see opportunity to collaborate on innovation that brings the benefits of Azure Stack HCI on Intel architecture to customers faster.

Our partners are the key to helping customers modernize their infrastructure and building a strategy for hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure deployments.

Virtually connect with us at Inspire

Microsoft has a breadth of great sessions at Inspire. You can learn more about its announcement here: aka.ms/azurestackhcipreviewblog.

We also are participating in a couple of virtual sessions. In an Ask the Experts panel, we will be joined by Microsoft’s principal program manager for Azure Stack HCI, Jeff Woolsey, and Christine McMonigal and Todd Christ, our resident HCI experts from Intel and our OEM partner community. We’ll discuss the hybrid cloud market, the opportunities we see for partners and how this translates into value for customers. You can check out the panel details here: https://myinspire.microsoft.com/sessions/e6fda703-202d-4646-a8ce-bd53f26e11cb?source=sessions .

I also had a discussion with Jeff Woolsey, which is complementary to the Ask the Experts panel where we were able to dive into more detail on Azure Stack HCI on Intel architecture.
