Demo – Intel® Xeon® Processor 5600 Series and Intel® Intelligent Power Node Manager

At a recent show I demonstrated the new Intel Xeon 5600 Series Processors and Intel Intelligent Power Node Manager Technology and active power capping.  The Xeon 5600 Series processors are already highly efficient and showcase a 15:1 ratio in comparison to servers from 4-5 years ago.

Using SPECpower as our workload, you can see how power can be managed directly using Intel Node Manager Technology in this server to server comparison.  In a scale scenario, with thousands of servers, this demo showcases the tremendous amount of power that could be saved across an entire datacenter.
