Highlights from the Intel Developer Forum 2014 – Day Two

The thrills continued on day two of the Intel Developer Forum. In case you missed it – or just feel like experiencing it all over again – we’re wrapping up our top three moments, with many more to come throughout the week!

Software Defined Strategy

Data center customization remains a hot topic, and the morning’s keynote by Diane Bryant addressed the need for a software-defined networking solution before touching on subjects from collective orchestration to collaborations with Hadoop and Cloudera.

Next Gen PCs

Senior Vice President of Intel’s PC Client Group, Kirk Skaugen displayed an impressive variety of products. A few that wowed IDF attendees includes a game display with 12k graphics resolution running at 60 frames a second, a Rezence wireless charging station, and Skylake - the 14 nanometer processor microarchitecture behind some of next year’s most highly anticipated innovations.

Maxta’s Cloud-based Enterprise Solutions

One of our favorite showcase booths belonged to software-defined storage solutions provider Maxta, who demonstrated the different ways they fulfill their commitment to “"bringing the public cloud to the enterprise." If you haven't yet had a chance to stop by, we recommend dropping in tomorrow to see whether your business could benefit from their services.

That’s it from us – what did you most enjoy about IDF Day Two? What are you looking forward to on our third and final day? Let us know, and come back tomorrow to catch up on all the news you missed!
