In a recent post, I talked about our participation at the Gartner Digital Workplace Summit. We focused on the complexities customers face living in a mixed environment of unified communications and collaboration technologies that don’t always integrate. This leaves both employees and IT frustrated when meetings and collaboration don’t go as planned because the technology didn’t work.
We highlighted our efforts to solve these challenges with our Intel Unite® solution, designed to create easy meeting connections and content sharing for better collaboration. It also is built on an open platform that integrates with existing meeting room technology.
I’m at the Gartner Symposium in Barcelona this week where we’re extending our conversation on Intel Unite. As part of this, I’m excited to share that we have new capabilities which build on our commitment to be one of the most open and flexible collaboration providers today. This includes:
- Support for Linux-based devices—so customers can use Intel Unite® on even more devices of their choosing
- Support for full HD video streaming on Chromebooks—especially valuable for educators and students
- Expanded iOS capabilities—which add support for web pages and pictures, enabling customers to share even more with iPhones and iPads
On the partner front, we’ve also added more plugins that help extend the collaboration experience. This includes support for Logitech’s suite of conference room solutions including MeetUp Conference Cam, Logitech Connect, and Logitech GROUP.
The Intel Unite plugin for Logitech gives customers the ability to control their video conference experience from Intel Unite, decreasing the complexities associated with managing multiple meeting room technologies. Check out the latest list of plugins on the Intel Unite App Showcase page.
