New Intel Unite Platforms, Capabilities and Partnerships Improve Meeting Experience

I’m stepping into the blogging world while my colleague Kaitlin Murphy is out of the office. She typically shares news on how we’re advancing Intel Unite, our solution for modern collaboration. I work with Kaitlin on the Unite team, leading our product planning and development to ensure we’re building the right set of capabilities for our customers.

That said, I’m excited to announce new capabilities and partnerships that build on our commitment to make Intel Unite the best collaboration platform for customers. We continue to drive innovation across two distinct areas. One is creating simplicity for customers. Ease of use continues to be foundational to our Unite experience. The second area is delivering an open platform so customers can use Unite with a mix of existing solutions and services.

On the heels of the Integrated Systems Europe event, we’re turning our attention to Enterprise Connect, where we’re excited to support HP’s announcement on its new Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms device. We are also announcing the following new capabilities and partnerships in our effort to drive ease of use and openness.

New Intel Unite Platform

HP Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms: HP announced its HP Elite Slice for Meeting Rooms G2 with our Intel Unite solution. Designed to make the meeting experience simple and pain free, it includes Intel Unite to start meetings quickly and easily share content coupled with new features including 90 dBa audio for sound and clarity, a far field microphone that can capture sound up to five meters away and HP Noise Cancellation to avoid unwanted sounds and conversations in a room. We’ll highlight this innovative meeting room experience in our booth. For more information, visit:

Driving Simplicity

Ultrasonic Meeting Join: We now have the capability to connect meeting participants to the Intel Unite hub without the need to enter a PIN to join a meeting. Ultrasonic Meeting Join makes it incredibly easy to join a meeting by using ultrasonic sounds waves to connect a meeting participant’s device to the hub in the meeting room. Within one click, the participant can present or view the content to or from the screen in the collaboration space. We’ll feature this at Enterprise Connect and it is available for download today.

System Broadcast – This feature enables IT administrators and facilities management to create and broadcast internal communications to Unite platforms. From notifications about free donuts in the kitchen to an upcoming fire drill, System Broadcast will help keep teams informed on the latest company information. Coming soon in March, you can download System Broadcast from our app showcase page here.

AirServer: We are pleased to work with AirServer to enhance how guests using iPhones, iPads, Macs, PCs, Chromebooks and Android devices can join a meeting. AirServer’s universal screen mirroring receiver now works with Intel Unite. The Intel Unite® Plugin for AirServer creates a seamless experience for guests to join meetings, view content and easily present.

Uniting Solutions With an Open Platform

Huddly: Huddly’s GO Collaboration camera now works with Intel Unite. The new Intel Unite® Plugin for Huddly connects the Intel Unite hub automatically with Huddly GO as the collaboration camera for high-quality video capture. Meeting participants, both local and remote, can seamlessly control (pan/tilt/zoom) their Huddly camera from the Intel Unite solution. The Intel Unite Plugin for the Huddly GO Collaboration Camera is available here.

Cisco Telepresence: Available today is our Cisco Telepresence plugin. This is part of our broader commitment to ensure Intel Unite works with existing technology and services in meeting rooms today. Instead of multiple steps to initiate a video conference meeting and connect devices for sharing, participants can simply launch the meeting through Intel Unite to get connected, share, and even control the video conference. The Intel Unite Plugin for Cisco Telepresence will also be available later this month.

Cisco WebEx: Similar to our efforts to drive seamless integration and wireless sharing with leading UC applications like Skype for Business and Zoom, we are adding Cisco WebEx as a supported plugin. The new Intel Unite® Plugin for Cisco WebEx creates an integrated experience for customers to start meetings quickly, wirelessly share content across any device, and seamlessly pass control from one participant to the other. With this plugin, the Intel Unite hub is enabled as the resource in the room and enables participants to join the meeting via WebEx or the Intel Unite app. The Intel Unite Plugin for Cisco WebEx will be available in the following weeks.

If you’re at Enterprise Connect, please stop by our booth at: 1419. Also check our app showcase site for the full view on available plugins or go to our Intel Unite site to learn more.
